Glacial Rock (Judges' Cave)
"I've returned to writing poetry after having published fairly extensively on contemporary poetics and the philosophy of language and of intentionality. My recent poetry will be appearing in upcoming issues of Tamafyhr Mountain Poetry and These!."
By Daniel Barbiero
Rocks and earth
bones of the mountain
its flesh a drift of gravel
and "bowlders"
put there by the glaciers.
These three rocks were one
dragged across hundreds of miles
stone under ice
abraded in lines and broken
when the sheet withdrew.
Hyperborea, the bedrock
scree and talus
powdered bones of gods
now wafting pneuma.
