By Erica Woiwode
a lazy holocaust -
caught between
empty prozac
bottles and the
blue madness
my heart screams
for silence, and
the sardonic rush
of wind tearing
through my hair
out the car window,
speeding north
to someplace
the fluorescent light
won't hurt my
eyes, where more
than shadows will
sing me to sleep,
where my
insides will
pulse with
undying will
to stay sacred.
