my voice inside a jar
on a string
at bay

trapped behind glass
under pressure

he cannot hear me, or
he just won't listen

breaking hearts try and mend themselves

as i picture his face
appearing kind and gentle, i catch that fading sparkle yearning to be rekindled

i cannot help myself
memories welling up
eyes dripping, heavily

sometimes i hold it all in

that day
that secret

that moment i fell in,

then out of love
