O ne of the pioneering "smooth jazz" acts going back to the late 1970s when Grover Washington Jr. produced their first three albums, Pieces of a Dream continues to create percolatingly uptempo rhythms with hypnotic melodies riding atop them.
Equal parts R&B and early '60s "exotica," Pieces of a Dream plays a funky easy-listening music for contemporary audiences. Their new album is overflowing with decadent ear candy luscious saxophone solos, warm keyboard charts, and some heated vocals by Ramona Dunlap.
